As many of you know, a number of “Golden Ticket” holding fans made the trek to Austin to see Chris Roberts’ big announcement at GDC Online on October 10, some traveling from as far away as England! They were gracious enough to let us film interviews, which we’ve cut together in a new video that’s available now on the Roberts Space Industries YouTube channel:

I would have loved to have been there. I was as giddy as a school girl when I first watched the video. Seriously.

You guys should contact TotalBiscuit/TotalHalibut (wtf video’s) for a dev commentary.
He does a lot of vids for indie / kickstarter games.
He just did a dev commentary on Nexus 2, which now has about 48.000 views in about 17 hours.
I think it may really help us in getting some more attention to this game.
Cause on the RSI channel, I see about 5000 views in 5 days?
Me thinks not enough people know about Start Citizen yet.
totally agree with you,we can search every way to help this devs and they should do their part(like they are doing to now for sure
)
Total Biscuit would be a great idea! Hes got so many watchers, you could reach out to an enormous base of players out there!
Be happy to reach out – More than one person has mentioned TotalBiscuit/TotalHalibut – their commentary videos are hilarious!
What’s the best way to contact?
I don’t know if it helps, but this is Totalbiscuit’s Business Contact :

@Christopher Roberts
I must say, really love the way you interact with, and listen to us
that wouldn’t be a bad idea, but i would hold off until we get more info about the game (reddit ama, ship details) as well as the upgrade pledge option, etc.
also, nexus 2 only has 6 days left to meet their $650,000 goal, and it’s not looking good at the moment. if this ever does happen, it would be respectful to at least wait those six days as nexus 2, while different, is still a space game and we wouldn’t want to cannibalize their pledges. the more space games the better as far as i’m concerned!
Totally agree.
And yes TotalBiscuit would be a realy good advertising. His review are authentic and that’s what the gamers out there appreciate.
Last big thing was PS2 he was excited about.
Really cool video, awesome!
Aww would have been so cool to be there for the reveal in person
Is it just me or does GDC look comparatively empty to other events like E3 / Eurogamer?
GDC seems to be less about promoting games for sales, and more about showcasing a project to the industry. I’d guess they were going to use it as a soapbox to recruit online gaming specialists for the persistent universe aspect of things.
GDC Online is very small – much smaller than the big GDC in SF and a LOT smaller than E3 or Gamescon.
And we did the announcement at 9am CST (10 am EST), which was an hour before the GDC Online conference starts (its normally 10-5)
Despite the much smaller profile of GDC Online we thought it would be good as I created Wing Commander and Freelancer in Austin, and there is a large online component to Star Citizen and we always figured the live cast was how were going to reach the fans / world.
Oh, and we couldn’t get the demo finished in time for Gamescon (which was the original plan)!
Just a quick Question:?
Will RSI Star Citizen be at E3 2013 11-13 June LOS ANGELES next year.
I volunteer!
Also, GDC is aimed at game makers and not the general audience. It’s focus usually is on game development sessions where speakers present practical cases and ideas of how to implement one thing or other, such as game balance, narrative, technical art, level design, server structure, community, etc.
It’s also quite expensive
Up to this year, GDC Austin was aimed at online game making and game writing in general. I knew I show had booked some time (and money!) to go to this one
This truly was a great way to re-emerge on the scene.
It’s a pity – I was just at work in Germany – but I had the opportunity to watch it life via stream
I vote for a total bescuit video before the kickstarter ends. its bound to get some more fans
@Greaser: I had the same problem..living in germany. But for god’s sake i watched the GDC stream with 3 other fans at work on a little bigger screen. ^^
Lucky ones
