This Week in Star Citizen
April 6th, 2020

Happy Monday, everyone!

Spring has sprung, and we hope you’re all doing well.

There’s no better time to connect with fellow gamers. We welcome you to join the conversation on Spectrum or simply jump into the ‘verse and engage with the incredible Star Citizen community. I’ll be flying around and looking for a crew for my Carrack, so keep an eye out for me! All are welcome aboard!

In case you’re planning on updating your wardrobe or sprucing up your gaming area, don’t hesitate to check out our Spring Merchandise Sale which kicked off earlier today.

If you’re looking for the latest insights into the upcoming patch 3.9, we’ve just released a new episode of Pillar Talk. Join Paul Reindell, Eric Kieron Davis, Sean Tracy, and Chris Roberts as they talk Star Citizen Alpha 3.9.

Last but not least, we’ve started to distribute Q2 Buy Back Tokens earlier today. They’ll be rolling out to all of you throughout the day, and you can find more about this process on our Knowledge Base.

Now, let’s see what’s going on this week:

On Tuesday, the Narrative Team will release the first part of an exciting short-story – Hostile Negotiations.

Wednesday we’ll repost the SQ42 Monthly Report from March as a Comm-Link. The report highlights what the developers have been up to throughout March and was already sent to our Squadron 42 newsletter subscribers last week. If you want to be among the first to receive regular updates on Squadron 42’s development, you can sign up to receive the newsletter here.

As ISC is on its three-week hiatus, there won’t be an episode this Thursday. The show will return on the 23rd of April, with exciting new updates on Star Citizen’s development.

On Friday you’ll see a Roadmap update and Roundup, an update to the Subscriber Vault, and the RSI Newsletter will be delivered to your inbox. Finally, we’ll welcome a new episode of Star Citizen Live, which will broadcast on our Star Citizen Twitch channel. This week, the Narrative Team will be answering your questions on the history and present state of the ‘verse. Check out the Spectrum thread to submit your questions and vote for the ones you’d like to see tackled on Friday!

See you in the ‘verse!

Weekly Wisdom: Overclock Your Ship Weapons

In combat, it’s the little things that often determine victory or defeat. For example, a higher rate of fire or weapon malfunction can quickly seal your fate. But don’t panic, there are always options to give you the edge!

Jump into the cockpit, launch your ship, and interact with an MFD. Select the menu followed by the POWER category. Then, navigate to the ITEMS submenu. Finally, scroll to your weapon and press OVERCLOCK.

But be careful, overclocking weapons not only increases damage or rate of fire; it also increases heat, energy consumption, and wear and tear.

Community MVP: APRIL 6th, 2020

We're constantly amazed by the contributions made by the Star Citizen community. Whether it's fan art, a cinematic, YouTube guide, or even a 3D print of your favorite ship, we love it all! Every week, we select one piece of content submitted to the Community Hub and highlight it here. The highlighted content creator will be awarded an MVP badge on Spectrum and be immortalized in our MVP section of the Hub.

Don’t forget to submit your content to our Community Hub for a chance at seeing it here!

The Beauty of Star Citizen by KungLi

If you want to relax after a long working day and get in the mood for the 'verse before heading there yourself, I highly recommend this video. KungLi went on a voyage and recorded his impressions for us. Thank you, it really is beautiful!
