Citizens United is dedicated to empowering all members of the United Empire of Earth to regain control of their galaxy.

Through a combination of economical and educational reforms, Citizens United aims to reassert the values of free enterprise and sovereignty for all Humankind.

History

2546 – Inception

Citizens United traces it’s inception back over 400 years; to the ill-fated proposal of the Prime Citizen. Many Citizens throughout the Empire were outraged by the very idea of elevating a single man above the rest; wielding ultimate power.

When Ivan Messer ascended the throne in 2610 it marked the beginning of the end for true Citizenship. Man became subjects of the Empire, instead of rulers. The rise of the Imperator, and the UEE, marked the start of over 200 years of oppression.

2638 – Oppression

Although our organization had not yet officially formed at this time, Senator Assan Kieren of Terra is still highly regarded as the first true defender of Citizen rights.

While his calls for sovereignty were short lived; his sudden disappearance and the evidence of UEE propaganda designed to discredit him have left his name as a strong rallying cry. For the next hundred years, humanity was trampled by the might of the UEE Military, but the ideals started by Kieren slowly and consistently chipped away at the Imperator’s power.

During these years, the foundations of Citizens United were laid down all across the galaxy. Groups of politicians, intellectuals and industrialists followed Keriens footsteps, and began working together to restore power to the individual Citizen. Many of these groups were tracked down by the corrupted UEE Advocacy and imprisoned or blackmailed. However, despite the Advocacy’s best efforts, they could not stop the rising tide of discontent.

2757 – Insurrection

By 2757, strong ties had been created between many revolting groups, and a network of information sharing had been established. This network was used to distribute and broadcast footage of the murder of Anthony Tanaka (a child-laborer who was shot for refusing to continue working under slave conditions) throughout the Empire.

Anthony Tanaka became a symbol against the cruelty of the Imperator. People began to speak openly about the current state of the Empire, and the number of dissidence grew beyond the control of the Advocacy.

While Citizens United was not recognized by the government as an official entity, the first drafts of the organizations structure were drawn up.

Charter

Everything here is in its infancy, so feel free to discuss how to improve and grow the org. All suggestions are welcome!

Rules:
1 – Focus should be centered around the community itself.
Star citizen has its strengths and weaknesses, and while we encourage all discussion, we want to keep it as amicable as possible. Leave toxicity at the door.

2 – No spamming in text OR voice channels. No NSFW content.
This will eventually become a very diverse group of people. Think about what you post and consider how it might affect other people.

3 – No hate speech, racism, or harassment.
This should be a no-brainier, but it still needs to be stated.

4 – Bring any problems to a Staff member asap.
With members from many different organizations existing together in the same space, disagreements are bound to happen. Rather than stir things up, bring your concerns to staff and allow them to deal with them.
