Tanys is a city located in the Corsti Mountains on Locke (Idris IV), United Empire of Earth (UEE). Founded as a resort town for climbing enthusiasts, in 2542 Tanys became the center of the resistance movement against the invading Tevarin called the Greys. When Idris IV was officially recognized by the UEE Senate in 2546, the Governors Council chose to name the planet after Rachel Locke, leader of the movement. The natural beauty of the surrounding landscape and the city's importance to UEE history have given rise to a thriving tourism industry.
