Founded in 2506 as a loose collection of planets and moons on the edge of the system that were recently terraformed, we all were free men. Each planet ran its own affairs and kept to themselves. People called us the Independent Planets, the Independents, or the Brown Coats cause of our uniforms and all. Now things was goin good for a long while for us as the Union of Allied Planets, or the Alliance as we all called them, was fightin amongst themselves and sortin out who was who. Eventually, got it together they did and decided they needed control of the rest of the system. Right round 2511 they overwhelmed our brown coat armies with shear brute force. We never stood a chance. Those that survived to see the armistice just faded away into the wildlands and tried to eek out a living. Today it’s almost 440 years later and we’re still out here, rebels tryin to make our way. Brown Coats at heart. Brown Coats forever.
