Roadmap Roundup - October 4th, 2019

Roadmap Roundup

Hi everyone,

Each and every week, we accompany the Roadmap update with a brief explanatory note to give you insight into the decision-making that led to any changes. This is part of an effort to make our communications more transparent, more specific, and more insightful for all of you who help to make Star Citizen and Squadron 42 possible.

With that, let’s dive into this week’s roundup!

Notable Changes for October 4th, 2019

On the Squadron 42 Roadmap, Usables v2 and AI Combat v2 have been marked as completed.

SQ42 – Basilisk Armor – Advocacy

The Character Team recently spent time reassessing schedules and work to be completed for Squadron 42. After doing so, the team emerged with a new strategy and schedule that focuses on closing out individual characters rather than working on one outfit at a time. With this schedule, the team will be texturing and skinning the Basilisk Advocacy Armor once they have finished working on an upcoming unannounced character. For this reason, this armor set has been moved to Q1 2020 on the Public Roadmap.

SQ42 – Gunner

The high poly and game mesh have been completed for this new outfit, however, for similar reasons mentioned above, the Gunner outfit will be prioritized to be completed alongside both the male and female characters that will be wearing this outfit, resulting in a similar move to Q1 2020 on the Public Roadmap.

SQ42 – Shipjacker Heavy

For similar reasons as mentioned above, the Shipjacker heavy outfit will be moved to Q2 2020.

SQ42 – Walk and Talk

While we’ve made fantastic progress on Walk and Talk, the immediate focus has shifted to wrapping up Guarding & Patrolling (some of this work will actually cover Walk & Talk). Due to this re-priortiziation, Walk & Talk has been moved back one quarter to Q4 2019.
